Jo Moseley, 56, is a Mum of two sons, aged 24 & 20. They live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. She describes herself as a beach cleaner, joy encourager & midlife adventurer.
She appears on Marvellous Midlife with Laura Shuckburgh on 28 March 2021.
In August 2019, Jo became the first woman to SUP (stand up paddleboard) coast to coast 162 miles along the Leeds Liverpool Canal, picking up litter, fundraising for surf therapy charity The Wave Project and 2MinuteBeachClean Foundation and raising awareness of the problems of single use plastic.
She loves writing, speaking about adventure and wellbeing and making tiny films about the joy of the outdoors for our mental health after losing her Mum and a difficult menopause. Her short films 'Finding Joy' and 'Found At Sea' have both won awards. She has been featured in the national press, magazines, on the TV and radio. Jo also speaks at adventure festivals and midlife wellbeing events.
Alongside her lovely day job, Jo teaches hydro jog and plans to train as a paddleboard instructor to share the joy of SUP (stand up paddleboarding) with other women.
She has recently launched a podcast called The Joy of SUP - The Paddleboarding Sunshine Podcast.
Jo has also just released a film with Frit Tam of Passion Fruit Pictures about her coast to coast called Brave Enough - A Journey Home to Joy.
Cal Major, world record holding paddleboarder and ocean advocate called it “one of the most beautiful and honest adventure films” she’d seen in a long time. You can see the trailer here: https://vimeo.com/502656424
You can read her blog post about the making of the film and key messages here.
Jo also has a newsletter called Postcards of Joy - Stories To Lift The Soul. You can find out more at jomoseley.com or follow her on Twitter or Instagram @healthyhappy50.
