I previously worked in the publishing and conference industries, and ran my own training and conference business for several years. After a series of personal losses in my 40s, I crashed and burned. I had developed both a physical and psychological dependency on alcohol, which had been a problem for me since my teens. Taking ownership of my health was the foundation of my recovery. I turned to nutritional therapy to address the malnutrition and gut dysfunction caused by alcohol abuse and stress, and found that my lifelong symptoms of anxiety and depression also improved. I became interested in the links between physical and mental health and decided to study nutritional therapy. I qualified after 4 years of study and I have also completed training in addiction counselling and NLP. I have a specialist focus in nutrigenomics (the relationship between human genome, nutrition and health) to help understand nderlying causes and improve the health of individuals.I work with women in their 40s and upwards to optimise their physical, cognitive and mental health. As well as supporting hormone, gut and brain health, I have a particular interest in working with those who have developed unhelpful behaviours around alcohol, nicotine, sugar, or prescription and non-prescription drugs, and who now want to take control of their physical, cognitive and mental wellbeing.
