Dr Ola Brown is a world change agent. A foster child from Lowestoft, Suffolk, Ola became one of the UK’s youngest ever doctors, having passed her ‘A’ levels at 16. To honour the death of her younger sister, 12 year old Bussola, Ola went on to found Flying Doctors Nigeria at the age of just 23 - West Africa’s first flying doctors air ambulance service.
Since then, and still just 35, Ola has completed an MSc in Finance majoring in Economic Policy and has launched the publication of her fourth book: ‘Economics, Banking and Finance In Emerging Markets.' She has done a TED talk, and she’s spoken on Leadership at MIT – Massachusett’s Institute of Technology.
Dr Ola was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She founded the leading Pan African Healthcare Investment Company. She also received the Nigeria Medical Association (Lagos) Honorary Award for her role in healthcare investment.
Dr Ola has launched an in-house MBA for her team, and she produced an eight week YouTube course on Macroeconomics and the world of finance.
Ola has now created a portfolio of companies worth 200 million: Flying Doctors Nigeria, Chisco, Helium Health, Lifestores Pharmacy, MDAAS Global, Sygen, and Koniku – which has just signed a multi-million dollar deal with Airbus for the co-development of a solution for aircraft and airport security operations.
She developed private-public partnership projects in 2 African countries; a hospital project in East Africa and an Emergency care project in Central Africa.
Alongside friends, she set up a non-profit called the Citizens Action Group, that distributed food to the needy, rewarded healthcare workers through the ‘Heroes behind the masks’ campaign, and created advocacy materials for distribution throughout the country.
Her companies also designed and launched the first ever covid mobile testing booth in Africa, produced the first reverse-engineered ventilator in Nigeria, and entered public-private partnership with Ogun State Government to set up, run and manage their first molecular laboratory.
And this is just a fraction of what Dr Ola Brown and her team have achieved.
Dr Ola Brown – World Change Agent indeed!
