As a daughter of two of Britain’s favourite actors, Ruth and Philip Madoc, Lowri was aware that her home life was a little different from many of her friends at boarding school.

Growing up, weekends and holidays were often spent backstage in theatres, studio audiences, and on TV and film sets. Her parents’ work during the fabulous 1980’s and 90’s meant a large part of Lowri’s formative years were spent immersed in sitcoms, gameshows, summer seasons and pantos, many classical plays, films and audio recordings, as well as various TV drama series. From ‘Its’s a Knockout’ to ‘Dostoyevsky’, the exposure couldn’t have been more diverse.

Occasionally, and sometimes reluctantly, Lowri would be asked to get involved in front of the camera. Her credits include Hi-de-Hi, A Mind to Kill, the gameshow ‘Who’s Baby?’, ‘This is Your Life’, GMTV with Mad Lizzie and a programme for the Disney Channel! Gotta love the 80’s!

Not interested in the limelight, Lowri was however captivated by what went on backstage and on set. Many hours spent with production staff and front of house teams, it was little wonder she chose a career in stage management and then theatre management. Her final venue was The Lyceum, Covent Garden, where she was part of the Theatre Management team for 3 years, playing host to 2 Royal Variety Performances, amongst other prestigious productions and occasions.

Lowri now lives in Gibraltar with her husband Brendan and their 3 children Riain, Lili and Dexter.

Lowri’s first book in a series of semi-autobiographical stories, is ‘Hetty Backstage’. She is an 11 year-old girl who has famous parents, although doesn’t always like the attention this could bring, she does enjoy the colour, character and charm she experiences.
