Though Rima Geffen wanted to be a vet, she couldn’t cope with sciences, so studied art instead. Having lived in both Israel and the USA for 17 years, she eventually returned to the place of her birth, South Africa. And it was at CityVarsity that she taught photography for a decade, followed by a few years in property.

After seeing an animal-related video on FB a few years ago, Rima went vegan, changing her life for the better.

Rima’s spent time travelling to the north of SA to document animal rescue sanctuaries, of which there are quite a few. Her dream – after spending much time at the Greyton Farm Animal Sanctuary – is to document 60 sanctuaries, after she recently turned 60.
