Ajay Bawa
Ajay Bawa is a 20-year-old undergraduate Politics student at the University of Warwick.
He was born in Royal Leamington Spa at the heart of the county of Warwickshire and he has lived there for all his life.
In his teen’s up to the age of 18, Ajay was a Non-Commissioned Officer (Corporal) within the Army Cadet Force (ACF) under the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and co-host Sol was also a cadet but the Sea Cadet Corps which is one of the many mutual passions they both shared that helped them develop a lifelong friendship with various shared interests that eventually led them to come together and create The Cheeky Show.
Alongside the ACF, he held the elected position of Member of Youth Parliament for the constituency of Warwickshire which he had been involved since the age of 13. His position came with the duty to represent all of Warwickshire's young people from the ages 11-18 on a national level. As part of his Youth Parliament role, he supported in organising a mental health conference called "Warwickshire's Conversation: Mental Health – A Youth Parliament Project" where he brought all teachers of Warwickshire's schools together to discuss mental health issues within their schools and provide them with workshops to support their students better.
The knowledge gained from his 7 years in office; together with support from influential people like John Bercow, the former Speaker of The House of Commons, gave him the self-confidence to start realizing his full potential. Ajay once even spoke about the 'Living Wage' campaign in the House of Commons chamber at The Youth Parliament's annual televised debate on BBC Parliament. The Youth Parliament and ACF shaped Ajay into the person he is today and together with Sol, they plan to go far not only in their friendship but also far with the Cheeky Show.
