A TOPIC FOR EVERYONE TO THINK ABOUT:
On homework at school, a girl (age 10) wrote her thoughts:
Dear adults, today you look at me and cleverly tell me:
"Study, tomorrow You will build a life!".
I ask you:
Do you know that you, grown people, are teaching me?
You teach me how to drive in my “tomorrow” and not stop at the crosswalk that my girlfriend and I cross every morning going to school.
You teach me how the big people's coffee and beer are brought first, because kids can wait half an hour for their hot cocoa, which might not actually be very hot because they're kids…
You teach me by calling out to me: "Hey, little one, back off, you're in the way!".
Today I hinder you, but tomorrow, dear adults, you will hinder me, because I learn from you! What your hearts give birth to today, your children do tomorrow!
Because we are your future! You not only created us, but you create us each moment!
I am curious, everything is interesting to me. I'm interested when you fight in line. I find it interesting when you spank your child because he cried over the pink lollipop…
I find it interesting when you push another child so that yours can sit in a seat in the concert hall… and when you rush out and squeeze and crush me because you might be late for something?!… But… I am a phoenix and I am born in my mother's eyes - it is warm and safe there. I am born in the eyes of my ballet mistress - there I am with wings and flying. I am born when I meet adults who stop hearing only their thoughts and hear mine too.
Those who carry in their hearts a spark of humanity and a future for the children, those who do not think only of themselves…
Adults who hear children's longing for more reasonable actions, for more tolerance. Adults who give me an example how to be good, even to those different from me. To appreciate what I have and not think it is little because someone else has more than I do.
To resolve my conflicts with respect. If today there is more kindness born in hearts, tomorrow I will know that my smile depends on the smiles of the others. Then maybe the world will be the dream place to live, bathed in beauty, respect, empathy and faith in people!
If I could, I would give my whole heart, born of happiness and love, to anyone who lacks it - without fear of impoverishment. Because I know that there will always be someone to share with me from their heart, even a little, and I will keep it in my heart and multiply it!
Siged:
Your 10-year-old Tomorrow, born from your hearts.
