Share a Candy 🍬

By Adi Andreeva

May 1, 2024

Your grandfather asked me to marry him with a piece of candy.

We had nothing, he knelt down and said to me:

"Now I have nothing, just a candy, but if you want, we can build everything together"

"And what did you say?"

“I opened the candy, split it in half and we ate it.

From that moment on we shared everything.

We fell, got up and built. Together.

We have experienced difficult times, of fatigue, bittersweet moments, small disagreements, but we have always been there for each other. To the very end"...

"But there were different old times, grandma"

Time doesn't really change the way you love.

What has changed is that you no longer have good examples to follow.

Now you, the young, are afraid of everything.

You don't “get married” for the fear that you can't build anything together.

As soon as you fight, you break up because then you think you will find someone better.

Always looking for perfection as if it exists.

You lack the perception of reality. Of happiness in the little things. You do these great demos, rings worth thousands of euros, an expensive proposal video and then.....you miss the moment…

That intimate thing that you keep between the two of you is only for the two of you and is for life.

That's what you're missing.

The courage to live life and love for who you are, not what you imagine.

First you fall in love... then you live together without marriage again out of fear... not love.

And then you want to change the person you met because you don't like his character.

Then what kind of love are we talking about... at all... Because where there is love and understanding... everything is achieved in togetherness and support.

There is no need to change anyone and no matter how many years pass and your bodies transform.... hair turns gray or bald, but.... love remains because you see your soulmate and you can say out loud:

I'm happy.

There is no need to look for the big fireworks to show how much you love each other…

Just SHARE A CANDY.

I dedicate this humble story to my mom and dad who are celebrating 55 years of being together in a marriage on May 17th this year.

Shared with joy
